LOCAL ADVOCACY - Cortland County and the City of Cortland administer local services and facilities and can answer question and modify services to meet ADA and other regulations. Citizens have a responsibility to inform themselves about local affairs and communicate and advocate when changes are needed.

Olmstead Implementation - An historic Supreme Court decision, Olmstead vs. LC (1999), encourages states to reevaluate how they deliver publicly funded long-term care services to people with disabilities. 2004 Disability Action Agenda - The New York State Independent Living Council (NYSILC) Public Policy Committee recommends the following priority goals and actions for the 2004 Disability Action Agenda.
